I saw Hedwig twice and became a patron as well. Jen Grinels was astounding as Yitzak (that spit in the face was a shock at first) and Jeremiah Lorens HAS TO COME BACK TO DO HEDWIG!!! the chemistry was so perfect.

"Hedwig" certainly brought Cygnet onto the San Diego theatre scene with a bang! No one was more surprised than I (being somewhat over 50) at what an amazing production that was, and so it's a very fitting "swan song"--pardon the expression--for the Rolando Theatre. After "Hedwig" I became a season subscriber and never stopped going to Cygnet plays, musicals, staged readings, etc. There has been such an extraordinary variety, all first-rate and all certainly worth the time and (modest) expense for the theatergoer. I've talked numerous friends into becoming ticket holders also. The amount of dedication and love that went into everything connected to the Rolando theatre has always been obvious, and I have experienced many wonderful and memorable moments watching the productions there. But Sean is right, it's time to move forward to bigger and better accommodations in the Old Town Theatre which will offer more staging alternatives--and is more convenient for some of us. Besides, Old Town needs a boost and the "new Cygnet" is just the thing to provide it.

Hedwig, back? Bring it on! Last time I saw this at Rolando, I got a gang of friends to go and we had front row seats. Hedwig spotted me and during one part of the show jumped on top of my seat and yelled "look he's in the car wash" while swishing his skirt over my head, much to the delight of my cohorts and surrounding theatre-goers. Rolando's a tad far for me but for Hedwig it's worth it! Please let me know when tickets go on sale!
